Survey
Firstly, if we haven’t already, we will attend the property for a pre-examination. This survey will include checking the garage dimensions, overall structure of the building and where the electrical supply is located. This will make the process as swift as possible on the day. This also includes taking the correct measurements to ensure your door is the perfect fit!
During the survey, we will be available to answer any questions, which means a great opportunity to ask if you’re still unsure about anything.
The big day- the garage door installation
So, it’s now the day of your new door being delivered, and the nerves are kicking in. We would have previously sent a confirmation, which states the date of completion and an estimated time of arrival. But what to expect from the moment we arrive?
Removing the old door
To begin, we will, if applicable, remove your old garage door from the hinges. Obviously, when placing a new door on the garage, it’s important that the previous one is removed and placed somewhere out of the way to give a clear workspace. Any framework that’s damaged will be amended to make sure the structure is sound.
If you don’t have an old door that needs removing, please make sure the space is clear from any debris or objects that could cause a problem for our fitters. This will save time and prevent accidents.
Starting work
Next, our team will begin fitting your new roller door:
- Starting by mounting the tracks and levelling them up so the door can open smoothly.
- The roller door then has a curtain attached with slats that allows it to move.
- Once set up, the springs and cables are then set up.
- Finally, the opener and motor systems are installed. This is where extras such as external overrides or safety edges will be applied.
Testing the installation
Now that the main base of the door is ready, it’s time to test! Beginning with the electricals, the fitter checks that the opener is working properly and all other functions, such as auto-stopping, are activated. The door is opened and closed repeatedly- looking for any problems such as jerky movements or out of aligned tracks. Once happy the door is operating smoothly with little noise and even tension, our team will be satisfied your door is ready to use!
Cleaning up
To finish, the team will clean up the area and remove the old door, taking it away and disposing of it for you. Leaving you with your brand-new roller garage door. We’ll take you through a demonstration so you’re informed and leave you with a warranty card to register for a 5-year warranty. Giving you peace of mind that your door is protected.
